Archimedes has been one of the most smartest person in ancient Greece. He was a respected physician, mathematician, astronomer, engineer, and inventor. He was born in 287 B.C. and died in 212 B.C in Syracuse by a roman soldier. He built inventions that helped in warfare and the people of the city. Historians know very little about Archimedes life and his childhood. His inventions helped improve Greeks life and is still useful to modern day people. He built catapults, a claw that could attack boat and a mirror that could burn wood and people. He made inventions like Archimedes'
screw, the odometer which measures length of how far people go, and the block and tackle system which pulls things up for the public people. There was a time when the king asked Archimedes to figure out if the blacksmith was telling the truth by putting only gold. Archimedes went in the tub and then shouted "EUREKA" because he figured out the answer that the blacksmith was lying. so the blacksmith was executed.
